What’s New This Year

  1. Friday is a full day. We’re renting the Lodge an extra day so we can setup on Thursday and start activities first thing on Friday at 10:00am.
  2. In addition to the game auction, we will have a $3 game table. It’s a great way to clear out your unwanted games—and get some great bargains.
  3. We’ll have a charity auction in honor of Stella to benefit the SPCA.
  4. Jimmy will be hosting a Blood on the Clocktower game every evening.
  5. Vittorio will be hosting a D&D tournament on Saturday.
  6. Ed will be hosting mini painting all weekend—supplies provided.
  7. Tara and Lily Creations is a new sponsor and will be onsite selling gaming accessories.

Location

We’re once again at Croton Point Park in the Senasqua Lodge. Please see this map for the location within the park.

When entering the park, please mention that you’re attending WGGCon to receive a discounted car entrance fee of $5. If you rented a cabin, please give your name for first entry. Elliot will then provide your key and parking pass.

If you ever arrive when the gate at the RV park is closed, just text Elliot or Alec to be let in.

Schedule

We start Friday at 10:00am and run around the clock until Monday morning. We must clean up and be out of the Lodge on Monday morning, but we can game as late as we want on Sunday night.

Our world-famous BBQ is on Saturday at 5:00pm. Vegetarian options will be available. We will also have a hot dog cart on Friday evening, pizza on Sunday evening and will provide soda/water and snacks during the entire con. And Mister Softee will be stopping by a few times during the weekend!

We’ll be projecting movies outside after dark on Friday and Saturday. (Thank you to Paul and Wilfried for the big screen and projector.) Popcorn and other snacks will be provided.

You’re welcome to bring your families even if they’re not gamers. Plenty of people will be bringing their children to enjoy the park, but kids under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Dogs are allowed at the park but must be leashed and may not go inside the Lodge.

Games

Please bring games to play and share. WGGCon is all about pickup games; so, if you want to play a particular game, please bring it!

You can also use our Discord Game Scheduling forum to arrange games with others.

Our focus is on board and card games, but you’re welcome to play any game that other players are interested in joining.

3rd Universe

3rd Universe is a WGGCon sponsor and hosts gaming throughout the week in Croton. They will be onsite to sell the latest games.

They will also host a Magic event on Friday evening.

Game Auction

Our wildly successful live game auction is held on Saturday at 6:30pm (after the BBQ). Please bring any games you’d like to sell.

You can download and print the auction form to fill out beforehand or copies will be available onsite. Please attach it to the back of the game box. The fee is a flat $4 per item entered (even if not sold), and unrelated games may not be bundled. Buyers may pay cash or via PayPal or Venmo.

New this year is a $3 table where you can sell games for a $3 flat fee with WGGCon’s cut only being a $1. It’s a great way to clear out your unwanted games—and get some great bargains. Here is the $3 table form.

Stella Memorial Auction

At 7:30pm, the regular game auction will be paused to conduct a charity auction in memory of Stella. Paul has donated the following new, shrink-wrapped games, and all proceeds will benefit SPCA Westchester:

Dr. Finn’s Games

Dr. Finn’s Games is a WGGCon sponsor. Game designer Steve Finn has many published games, including Cities (co-designed with Phil Walker-Harding and published by Devir), Biblios (published by Iello) and numerous games (such as Alpujarras, Fisheries of Gloucester, The Feds, and many others) published under his own Dr. Finn’s Games.

This year, Dr. Finn’s Games has switched to a strategy game book model and published his first book, Dr. Finn’s Book of Solo Strategy and Word Games. The book is now available on Amazon for only $15 and will be available on WGGCon for $10.

Kozz Games

Kozz Games, publisher of the Dark Tomb series, is a proud sponsor of WGGCon. Game designer Andy Bergmann will share a sneak-peak of his upcoming new campaign-based dungeon crawler.

Primal Trading Card Game and Magic: The Gathering

Kings Entertainment Press is a returning WGGCon sponsor. Check out their YouTube channel.

They will be onsite and selling a variety of board games, card games, Magic: The Gathering and Primal Trading Card Game items!

They are an official brand ambassador for Primal Trading Card Game and will be running open play games for just $15! That includes a starter deck, and the winner goes home with $15 in vendor credit!

They will also be running MTG Commander open $10 pods to win up to $40 in vendor credit! Also sit on down for $25 cash pods, win $50 CASH or $75 vendor credit!

See the full schedule here.

Tara and Lily Creations

Tara and Lily Creations is proud to be a new sponsor of WGGCon! They offer handcrafted resin games and accessories designed to bring beauty and fun to your weekend—and to enjoy long after. From unique D&D dice with matching cases to other one-of-a-kind creations, everything is made to be both playable and collectible.

🎲 Roll a natural 20 on a D20 at their booth and get 5% off your entire order—or roll for a chance by playing the Fairy Treeland game: $5 for three rolls, $10 for eight rolls, $20 for the vortex of chance area (to win exclusive prizes). Each roll can lead to winning handmade prizes like pendants, board games, keychains or more.

Please note: All items are final sale, as each piece is handmade and intended to be enjoyed beyond the convention.

Croton Point Pointless 5K

Start your Sunday off at 10:00am with a 5K fun run/walk through beautiful Croton Point Park. Host Jimmy will be providing swag for all participants.

Geek & Gaming Trivia

Violet and Liam will host trivia on Sunday at 2:00pm. Questions will cover both gaming and general geekery. Come test your wits against your fellow geeks and win prizes!

Blood on the Clocktower

During a hellish thunderstorm, a scream echoes through the sleepy town of Ravenswood Bluff. The townsfolk rush to investigate and find the beloved local storyteller has been murdered, their body hanging limp from the clocktower. As blood drips onto the cobblestones below, a realisation slowly dawns… a demon has been unleashed, killing by night and taking on human form by day. Can good find the demon in time? Or will evil overrun this once peaceful town?

Jimmy is hosting a game every night at 9:00pm.

Dungeons & Dragons Tournament

Total Party Kill is a “roguelike” D&D module where a party of four fight through a gauntlet of brutally hard combat encounters to earn gold, which is spendable between fights on resources, magic items and healing.

Each table will compete against others to see who can make it the furthest before a TPK. Bring your most min-maxed level 12 5e character (or use one of ours) and join individually or in a group. Dungeon Masters also wanted.

Miniature Painting

Want to learn how to get started painting miniatures and terrain? Have questions about 3D printing minis and terrain? Already know what your doing? Want to hangout and paint a cool mini?

Ed will provide everything but you! Come grab a cool 3D printed mini, a chair, a brush and have fun! SLAY THE GRAY!

WGGCon T-Shirts

WGGCon t-shirts are available onsite for $27. For those who pre-ordered the discounted t-shirts before the deadline ($22), please see Elliot to pickup and pay. Please wear your shirt for the group photo on Saturday.

Call for Volunteers

We need your help! Please volunteer to ensure our great event runs smoothly.

A sign up sheet will be onsite, but please let Alec know in advance if you can cover a time slot.

As a thank you, those who volunteer for 2+ hours receive a free WGGCon t-shirt. Those who volunteer for 4+ hours also receive a selection from our volunteer prize pool of new shrink wrapped games.

Canopies, Tables and Chairs Needed

You can also help the con by bringing any portable canopies, tables and chairs. There are plenty of tables and chairs inside, but more are always welcome. There are plenty of picnic tables outside, but canopies will help shield the sun.

Cost

WGGCon is paid for entirely with donations. We have faith that our supporters will come through as they have every year.

Our suggested donation is $10-20 per person per day plus $15 for those who join the Saturday BBQ. We don’t set a firm amount because we like people to base their donation on how long they spend with us and how much food/snacks/drinks they consume. If you’re only stopping in for a couple hours, feel free to pay $10. If you’re with us around the clock and eat voraciously, then please adjust your donation accordingly.

Please note that the donation is separate from cabin rentals and t-shirt sales.

As mentioned above, there’s a $5 per car fee to enter Croton Point Park (please mention you’re attending WGGCon for that reduced rate).

Raffle

As a thank you for those who donate, we have some fantastic games for our raffle. We’re not selling tickets, but you get a free ticket for every $10 you donate for food and the venue as per above. The games are brand new and shrink wrapped. We’ll draw names Sunday at 6:30pm for each of the five lots; you don’t need to be present to win.

See you soon at WGGCon!
